a solitary sunbeam…

Once upon a moment, peeking forth 'til it was gone,
I knew it not, then presence spoke—
gave voice to its surround...

Reflecting off a surface and revealing disarray,
it hints of living lives stop-framed...of former yesterdays.
There, lies a brush abandoned though still clasping silken hair;
and by its side, a single bloom bespeaks a lover's care.

Now moves along—silent as dawn—-this hinting, beckon‘ing beam,
with undulating bursts of light revealed through summer‘s leaves.
They shimmer, shudder, brighten, dim--
impromptu dance with whisps of wind.

Swift as it came, it now departs; the room re-swathes in grey.
A last good-bye, a parting glimpsed as dust motes slip away y   y    y     y
